I am a student at the University of Victoria in the Post Degree Professional Program to become a secondary school teacher. In 2020, I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, but my love for education has brought me back to UVic and down the path of becoming an educator. My passion for animals and the environment has always pointed me towards biology as my primary focus. However, I have also studied geography and history, with a passion for Indigenous histories, rights, and issues, which has allowed me to have Social Studies as a second teachable subject area. Getting my first degree has been a long battle, as I am also a mother of two young children, work as an architectural technician, and volunteer at the YMCA as a group fitness instructor. But I look forward to extending my education and having the opportunity of teaching children how to think and not what to think.
